wayne gretzky

My inspiration : Wayne Douglas Gretzky

Wayne Gretzky is someone i look up too not only because he is one of the best hockey players in all of Canada but also because he was born in Brantford, Ontario, Canada were i was born but i was a little far from were he lived. OK getting of topic he was born January 26,1961 Branford, Ontario,Canada. he played for :  Indianapolis Racers (WHA)Edmonton Oilers (WHA/NHL)Los Angeles Kings (NHL)St. Louis Blues (NHL)New York Rangers (NHL)

In a 1999 Hockey Hall of Fame Inductee press conference, Gretzky stated "Thank God I'm Polish" when another inductee made a joke about his Scottish quilt.

Did you know Wayne was nicknamed "the great one".he practiced hockey in his backyard rink Gretzky also became known for setting up behind the net, an area that was nicknamed "Gretzky's office" because of his skills there.Gretzky's grandfather Anton (Tony) Gretzky immigrated along with his family to Canada via the United States from the Russian Empire (what is now Grodno, Belarus).

Walter taught Wayne, Keith, Brent, Glen and their friends hockey on a rink he made in the back yard of the family home, nicknamed the "Wally Coliseum".
By the age of ten he had scored 378 goals and 139 assists in just one season with the Brantford Nadrofsky Steelers.

When he was 14 he decided that the pressure of playing in his small home town was too hard and the jealous players and his parents made him unhappy. When Gretzky first arrived in Edmonton he stayed with coach sather, who immediately promised him that one day he'd be captain of the team and win the Stanley cup. Sather knew how good Gretzky could be.

the next year 1980 - 1981 he won his first of seven straight scoring titles and Brock Bobby Orr's assists record of 109. After he Brock Phil Esposita's record of 76 goals, and many people thought it was un breakable.

  1. I want to start off by saying that I ABSOLUTELY LOVED the approach that you took for this blog! It was very different compared to what other people did for theirs! The tone that I got from it was informal and fun! You seemed really passionate about what you were writing and it showed through the different "fun facts" and the ways you connected to his personal experience.

You have to be careful with your spelling, and with capitalization with words and beginning new sentences. Overall, good ideas, and good flow/structure.

  2. I know that jealous players and their parents (not "his" parents) made him unhappy. Wayne Gretzky's parents encouraged him to play as long as he can- not made him unhappy.
